About this fundraiser

I am running my first marathon in honor of my dad, Doug Korey. My dad fiercely fought glioblastoma for 13 months, but ultimately passed away in August 2025. While I have never been a runner, my dad did countless marathons, ocean swims, and triathlons. He believed I could achieve anything I set my mind to, and I know running a marathon is a great way to honor him.

Glioblastoma is a horrific disease with one of the lowest cancer survival rates. Despite this, it is incredibly underfunded and the standard of care has remained unchanged. Organizations such as Glioblastoma Research Organization help to fund crucial research for this disease to investigate new approaches, such as immunotherapy and gene therapy.
