About My Fundraiser

I'm running the Dublin Marathon in honor of my dad, Larry,
and his brother, Rick.

Rick lost his fight with glioblastoma in 2012, and eight years later, my dad received the same heartbreaking diagnosis. Glioblastoma, or GBM, is the most aggressive form of brain cancer, a fast-growing, relentless disease that affects thousands of people each year and still has no cure. Research remains critically underfunded, making every effort to advance understanding and discover new therapies all the more important.

Even while facing this unforgiving illness, my dad never stopped thinking of others. His greatest wish was to make sure something good came from his diagnosis - he chose to donate his body, and specifically his brain, to glioblastoma research so that scientists could learn more and help future patients and families. This run is my way of continuing that mission and honoring both him and my uncle Rick, whose strength, humor, and love for life continue to guide me. I know my dad would be proud to see that his fight is still helping others, and every mile I run in Dublin is for them, and for everyone still battling this devastating disease.

Thank you for your support!
