First of all, we would like to thank Glioblastoma Research Organization for this opportunity to run, fundraise, and support a cause that means so much to us.
Hi, my name is Lindsey Cooper. In August of 2019 my dear husband and best friend was diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma. Like many of you all who have been down this path it completely rocked our world. Andy passed September 20, 2020. He lived life intentionally and full of life even when things got "ugly."
Professionally, I am an Occupational Therapist. During the diagnosing of my husband I was treating a patient with GBM and had become incredibly close to the family. Since the passing of my husband, I have treated a handful of patient's with GBM. Thus, GBM awareness and spousal support became a passion for me. MY husband was a double IronMan and believed in movement and the importance of exercise. Movement has become a huge part of my life and certainly has helped me through the grief providing me with the accessibility to share our story. GBM stole Andy's ability to move leaving me with the drive and passion to perform movement specifically running.
Hello, my name is Tami Huston. Like my dear friend Lindsey I too am an Occupational Therapist. Over the course of my career I have treated patient's with GBM and in the process became close with the family members as well. I am passionate about the research in the hope we can obtain information and the ability to increase the quality of life of those with GBM.
